Tunstad and So to Hit Links for Four-Years in 2017-2018

Glendora, CA – Citrus College’s Lexi Tunstad and Lexandra So will be enrolling at Whittier College and Hawaii Pacific University this Fall. Tunstad and So were both members of the 2015 Citrus College Women’s Golf team that finished in second place in the 2015 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships, going down as the best team in program history.

Morro Bay, CA – Citrus College sophomore women’s golfer Lexi Tunstad finished out her Citrus College career in strong fashion on Sunday and Monday at the 2016 California Community College Athletic Association State Women’s Golf Championships. Tunstad finished in the top-third of all individuals competing, and shaved six strokes off her performance at Morro Bay Golf Course as a freshman at last year’s State Championships.

Chino Hills, CA - Citrus College sophomore Lexi Tunstad will represent the Citrus College Women’s Golf team at the 2016 California Community College Athletic Association State Championships. Tunstad was the only Owl to make it out of the Southern California Regionals where they teamed placed sixth.

Freshman Alexandra Martinez was a steady hand for the Owls at the 2016 WSC Finals, posting a combined 165, including a season low round of 76 on the second day.

Filmore and Ventura, CA – The Citrus College Women’s Golf team finished out their 2016 regular season on Sunday and Monday at the 2016 WSC Finals. The Owls finished in second on the first day of competition, but finished in third on the second day.

Simi Valley, CA - With the 2016 season slowly moving into the rearview mirror, the Citrus College Women’s Golf team continued down it’s steady path on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Moorpark College. The Owls finished in 2nd place again, and got steady rounds from it’s usual suspects, including a rebound round by freshman Lauren Madueno.

Pasadena, CA - Citrus College sophomore Lexi Tunstad and freshman Angela Adams led the Citrus College Women’s Golf team effort on Wednesday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Glendale College. Tunstad carded a 87, while Adams had her second best round of the year with a 95.

Status Quo

Bakersfield, CA – The Citrus College Women’s Golf team maintained their status quo at the WSC Event hosted by Bakersfield College. The Owls once again finished in second place for the sixth time this year, and were paced once again by sophomore Lexi Tunstad.

San Dimas, CA - Sophomore Lexi Tunstad turned in her best performance of an already solid 2016 campaign on Monday afternoon when she turned in an 18-hole round of 76 at the WSC Event hosted by the Owls at San Dimas Canyon Golf Course. Her 76, was just one stroke shy of the top round of the day, placing her in second individually.

Palmdale, CA - The Citrus College Women’s Golf team posted another second place finish on Wednesday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Antelope Valley College. The Owls were paced by sophomore Lexi Tunstad and freshman Alexandra Martinez as Citrus cleared the day’s host by 27 strokes for a strong second place finish.

Morro Bay, CA - The Citrus College Women’s Golf team headed to the permanent location of the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships, Morro Bay Golf Course, for the annual North-South Invite. The Owls took on the state’s best and came home with a respectable 7th place finish.

Filmore, CA - The Third Western State Conference Event of the season took place on Monday afternoon at Elkins Ranch Golf Course. The Owls finished second once again, in the event that was hosted by College of the Canyons.

Freshman Alex Martinez was the leader in the clubhouse for Citrus at the WSC Santa Barbara event with an 88.

Santa Barbara, CA – The Citrus College Women’s Golf team resumed WSC play on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Santa Barbara City College. The Owls were the runner-up, finishing behind first place Santa Barbara City College and in front of third place Antelope Valley College.

Bermuda Dunes, CA - The Citrus College Women’s Golf team had their second straight 7th place team finish over the weekend at the 2016 College of the Desert Tournament. The Owls shot a two-day combined 774, just outpacing 8th place Mt. San Jacinto College.

Sophomore Alexis Tunstad finished third individually at the WSC Neutral Site Event that took place in conjunction with the annual South Coast Classic Tournament.

Ventura, CA - The 2016 Citrus College Women’s Golf team kicked off their 2016 season on Sunday and Monday at the 2016 South Coast Classic Tournament at Buena Ventura Golf Course. The Owls finished a somewhat disappointing 7th place in the South Coast portion of the event, but also finished a promising 2nd place when it counted most during the WSC Neutral portion of the tournament.
