It’s 7th Place Again for Owls at COD Invite

Bermuda Dunes, CA - The Citrus College Women's Golf team had their second straight 7th place team finish over the weekend at the 2016 College of the Desert Tournament. The Owls shot a two-day combined 774, just outpacing 8th place Mt. San Jacinto College.

Sophomore Lexi Tunstad paced the Owls once again, with rounds of 85 and 87 respectively. That was good enough for 12th individually out of the 52 total golfers. Freshman Alexandra Martinez came into the clubhouse with a 91 and a 95, while freshman Lauren Madueno carded back-to-back rounds of 106 and 100. Freshman Bruna Prestes rounded out the scoring rounds with a 113 in the opening 18, before rallying with a 97, cutting 16 strokes of her previous days round.

The Owls will be back in action on Monday when they take part in just the second conference event of the young season. Citrus will be Santa Barbara for the WSC Event hosted by Santa Barbara City College at Santa Barbara Community Golf Course, with tee time set for 10:30 AM.
