Citrus Women's Soccer kicked off its 2019 season with a home opener on Tuesday. The Owls hosted regional opponent San Bernardino Valley, dropping the game 0-5 to the Wolverines.

Things started off quickly for San Bernardino. In the 1st minute, a Citrus foul in the box led to a San Bernardino penalty kick that found its mark in the back of the net, establishing an early lead that would last throughout the contest.

The Owls fended off an offensive barrage by the visitors. The Wolverines charted an impressive 12 shots on goal, with goalie Deziree Valdez posting 7 saves. San Bernardino would score 4 more times in the game, posting a final score of 5-0.

The loss moves Citrus to 0-1 in 2019. The Owls take the field again this Thursday when they travel to Santa Barbara for a two day tournament. They take on host Santa Barbara City at 10:00 AM.
