Women's Soccer: Owls Pick Up Pair Of Conference Wins

Citrus Women's Soccer continued its domination of the Western State Conference South division with a pair of wins last week. The Owls unleashed the beast against West LA on Wednesday, beating up on the visitors with a 9-0 romping. The ladies added the 2nd win of the week in a road game at LA Valley, which they won 1-0. Citrus is currently ranked #17 in the state, with the new poll coming out tomorrow. The wins will likely result in a bump up on the list. 

Wednesday's win over West LA was a doozy, with 6 different players scoring goals. Berenice Mancinas led the way, busting out 2 goals off a whopping 13 shots. Amethyst Trang scored 2 goals, took 11 shots and charted an assist. Isabela DeLeonKatherine Gomez, Monica Perez, Zeanna Silva and Lunasoleé Holloway all contributed a goal in the win. Olivia Baldenebro, Jillian Santiago, Trang, Perez, Gomez, and Sarah Garcia all had assists.. Goalies Justine Muro and Deziree Valdez both played a half, and the pair teamed up for the shutout. 

Friday's win at LA Valley was a 1-0 result, with Valdez involved in her 2nd shutout of the week. The lone Owl goal was scored by Isabela DeLeon in the. 55th minute. 

Citrus improves to 11-4 overall, with a perfect 8-0 mark in the WSC South. With most of round 2 conference play remaining, the Owls will look to keep things rolling in a match Tuesday at home vs Antelope Valley. Kickoff is at 6:00 PM in the stadium.
