Pena Paces Owls at WSC #1

Freshman Victoria Pena had two second place finished and was a member of the first place 200 Free Relay team at the WSC #1 Meet hosted by Ventura College on Friday.
Freshman Victoria Pena had two second place finished and was a member of the first place 200 Free Relay team at the WSC #1 Meet hosted by Ventura College on Friday.

Ventura, CA - Freshman Victoria Pena helped pace the Owls at their first conference quad meet of the season last weekend. Pena had a pair of Top 2 finishes and was a member of the 200 Free Relay team that finished in first place.

 Pena opened up her strong day with a 2nd place finish in the 500 Free with a time of 5:54.46. She followed that up a few events later with another 2nd place finish in the 1000 Free. Freshman Hunter Olivier would offer up a pair of Top 3 finishes coming in 3rd place in the 500 Free (5:58.88) and 2nd place in the 100 Free (57.89). 

Freshman Megan Card would add a 2nd place finish in the 100 Back (1:07.11), while freshman Chloe Barrocas had the last Top 3 finish coming in 2nd place in the 200 Free (2:07.83). The lone win for the Owls would come in the aforementioned 200 Free. Pena, Barrocas, Card, and Olivier teamed up to post a time of 1:48.68. 

On the day, Citrus would finish in third place. The Owls totaled 78 points, and finished just 10 points behind second place finishing Ventura College.

The Owls will take a break from conference action next week and participate in the Chaffey Invitational. The two day meet is set to start on Friday at 8:00 AM.
