Citrus Women's Volleyball made a quick, one day road trip to San Diego Mesa College for a pair of Southern California Regional matches on Friday. The Owls faced Cuyamaca College and San Diego Mesa College.

The first game, against Cuyamaca, didn't go the way of Citrus, with the Coyotes taking the contest in 4 sets, 25-23, 16-25, 20-25 and 21-25. Citrus had solid performances from Nia Nix, who led all players with 20 kills and pitched in 15 digs for the double double, and setter Vanessa Warren dished out 37 assists, 2 aces and 16 digs.

The second match, vs San Diego Mesa, would end in in the same fashion for Citrus. This time in 3 sets, 12-25, 21-25 and 13-25. Nia Nix once again led all hitters with 13 kills for a .241 hitting percentage. She notched her 2nd double double by adding 10 digs to her stat line.

The two losses render the Owls winless in 2019, with an overall 0-3 record. The team will look to turn the tides when they take the court again Wednesday in a road trip to San Luis Obispo to take on Cuesta. First serve is at 6:00 PM.
