Citrus Volleyball played two Southern California Regional matches on Friday. The games were originally scheduled to be played at Pasadena City College, but repairs to their gymnasium led to the relocation of the matches to Citrus.

The Owls faced off against Pasadena and Ventura. In the 1st match against Pasadena, the Owls were swept 3-0 by a polished Lancer team that took advantage of the Citrus unforced errors. The Owls would fall 15-25, 12-25 and 21-25. Outside hitter Nia Nix led the way offensively and defensively, recording 14 kills on 29 attempts for a hitting percentage of 0.241, and 7 digs.

In the 2nd match against Ventura, Citrus was able to take a set from Ventura, but dropped the match 18-25, 19-25, 25-18 and 19-25. Nix once again led the charge for the Owls on both offense and defense. She recorded 19 kills and 11 digs in the match. Setter Vanessa Warrner tallied 32 assists and 11 digs in the effort.

The losses dropped the Owls to 0-6 in 2019. The team plays again on Wednesday at home when they host LA Mission at 6:00 PM.
