Citrus College started strong and held on for a three-set sweep of Antelope Valley College (25-12, 25-18, 25-14).

The Owls improve to 8-16 overall and 4-7 in Western State Conference-South action with the win. The Marauders slip to 3-16 on the year and are still looking for their first conference win (0-11).

Sabrina Evangelista finished the night with 13 kills on a .370 hitting clip. Kalin Greene followed with 11 kills and Caren Stone chipped in eight kills. Vanessa Marquez helped move the offense and finished with 30 assists.

Defensively, Marquez led the Owls with 13 digs, while Mychaela Ortiz posted nine digs and Stone added another eight.

The Owls close out conference action on Thursday as Santa Monica City College comes to the Owls Nest for a 6 p.m. match.
