The Citrus Men's and Women's Cross Country teams hit the ground running for their 2019 season opening races at Oxnard College on Friday.

The teams each competed against the top talent in Southern California in a race that featured 7 schools from across the region.

The Citrus teams are made up of a group of enthusiastic Freshmen that vary in experience, but not dedication. According to Head Coach Alan Wadington, the entire group made sizable improvements not just in their race strategies and stamina, but how the group fits together and what the team needs to do to be competitive in a very talent-packed conference in 2019.

The runners will lace up their shoes again this Friday when they travel to San Luis Obispo for the Tour de Cuesta, hosted by Cuesta College. The Women's start time is 1:00, followed by the Men at 2:00.
