In its final game of the season, Citrus College put up a battle but couldn't come out on top, dropping a 7-6, 12-inning defeat to LA Mission.

The Owls end the year at 16-24 and 9-12 in Western State Conference action, while the Eagles improve to 23-16 overall and 12-9 in conference.

Citrus had 15 hits in the game, with lots of Owls getting in on the action. Robert Moreno and Robert Valdivia each had three hits in the game to lead the Owls.

The Owls wasted little time as Devon Diaz came home on a Valdivia RBI single. Conner McKinney then sent Valdivia home with a base hit of his own to put the visitors up 2-0 early.

LA Mission responded with one run in the first and one in the second to tie the game before Citrus took back the lead in the third. With runners in scoring position, Roman Robles gave McKinney the green light to come home with a base hit.

In the top of the fifth, McKinney scored another run to put the Owls up 4-2.

The Eagles came clawing back and plated three runs in the sixth to take the lead before Robles homered to even things back at 5-5 in the seventh.

Matthew Espinoza gave the Owls the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth, but LA Mission answered back in the bottom half of the frame to tie it back up.

It took four more innings, but the Eagles walked away with the victory after capitalizing on an error to score the game-winning run.
