Owls Move Up One Spot; Pooler Named Offensive Player of the Week
Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Football team moved up one spot in the Southern California National Division Rankings, and Citrus College Freshman running back Emmanuel Pooler was named the National Division Central Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
After sitting at 7th in the National Division rankings the last two weeks, Citrus moved up one spot to #6 leapfrogging Cerritos College who fell to #7. The Owls are coming off a 58-31 win over Long Beach City College in their regular season home finale last Saturday.
In that win, Citrus was led by Pooler who carried the ball 16 times for a season high 146 yards and two scores. Pooler also caught one pass for another 18 yards and another touchdown. Pooler averaged 9.1 yards per carry and had his second longest run of the year, a 50 yard run early in the third quarter.
The Owls will be back out on the gridiron this coming weekend when they close out their 2013 regular season campaign at Los Angeles Harbor College (0-9, 0-5). Kick-off is set for 6:00 PM in Wilmington.
