Glendora, CA -- Citrus College sophomores Dane Cruikshank and Terrance Manderville became the 9th and 10th Citrus College Football players to sign scholarship offers so far this season recently. Cruikshank signed on with the University of Arizona, while Manderville has signed with Houston Baptist University.

Cruikshank was a two-year starter for the Owls, spending the 2013 season on the offensive side of the ball, when the Owls needed an emergency receiver. As a freshman Cruikshank caught four passes for 147 yards and a touchdown, while also averaging 20.6 yards per kick return, and recording five tackles. In 2014, Cruikshank moved back to his natural position as a cornerback and thrived for the Owls, earning 2nd Team All-SCFA Central League honors. He recorded 45 total tackles, a tackle for a loss, one pick, and four pass break-ups. Cruikshank also had offers from Utah, Utah State, BYU, and Iowa State.

"I felt like Arizona was the best fit for me. When I went on my visit they made me feel like I was at home. I ended up creating a good relationship with the coaches," Cruikshank said. "Citrus helped me mature. They taught me how to make better decisions and take school more seriously."

Manderville meanwhile was a two-year starter at linebacker for the Owls earning All-SCFA Central League Honorable Mention honors as a freshman and a sophomore. In his freshman season Manderville finished the season with 27 tackles (11 solo, 16 assisted), had four tackles for a loss, a fumble recovery, two interceptions, and a pass break-up. He followed that up in 2014 with 75 total tackles (39 solo, 36 assisted), 2.5 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, and five pass break-ups.

"After talking to the coaching staff at Houston Baptist, they seemed like good people that made me feel welcome. School is really important to me and they have a great business and economic program, which is what I'm majoring in, and it just felt overall like a good fit," Manderville said. "Citrus has helped me grow a lot. The way we study film, and the way we go over the game of football, has helped prepare me for the next level."

"With continued hard work in the classroom, in the weight room, and on the football field, Dane and Terrance can go in and contribute right away to their new teams," said Citrus College Head Football Coach Ron Ponciano. "We are looking forward into watching them as they continue to grow into men."
