Citrus College put together two big scoring quarters to grab a 49-35 victory over Glendale College Saturday afternoon.

The Owls improve to 5-4 on the year, 3-1 in the American Metro League with their second win in a row. The Vaqueros drop to 5-3 overall and 2-1 in conference with their first AML loss of the year.

Citrus finished with 265 passing yards and 240 rushing yards for 505 yards of total offense.

Adam Urena went 16-for-28 with four touchdowns in the game. Kasmir Dina led the Owls with 205 yards rushing and scored one touchdown. Jacob Ray caught two touchdown passes, with Dru Thompson and Andrew Morales also catching a patch in the endzone.

Defensively, Kendall Henderson had 10 tackles, while Jeremiah Flores grabbed an interception.

Ivan Castro got the Owls on the board first with a 22-yard field goal in Citrus' first time with the ball.

Glendale answered back with a touchdown to take the lead, but the Owls took it back in the second as Dina found a seam down the left side of the field to run in a 51-yard touchdown.

The Owls struck again with five minutes before the break as Urena found a wide-open Andrew Morales for another touchdown.

Once again, Glendale responded, but the Owl defense came up big on the point-after-touchdown attempt as Blake Davis blocked the kick and Darren Mercer scooped it up and ran to the other endzone to tack on two more points for the Owls.

In Citrus' next drive, Urena found Thompson for another touchdown to put the Owls up 25-13 at halftime.

The Owls kept the tempo up and scored another seven points off as Rene Zaldivar ran in for a one-yard touchdown and Castro's PAT sailed through the uprights, 32-13.

Glendale tried to climb its way back into the game and cut the score to one possession, 42-35, with just under four minutes to go.

After the Vaqueros called a timeout with 1:46 remaining on the clock and the ball at their 26-yard line, Urena found Ray for a touchdown pass to keep some distance for the Owls.

The Owl defense held firm in Glendale's next drive and didn't allow a single yard for the visitors to secure the 49-35 victory.

Citrus hosts LA Harbor next week at 1:00 p.m. for its final game of the regular season.
