Owls Fly Past Lancers in Ranked Showdown

No. 10-ranked Citrus College got hot from the floor and ran away with an 87-66 win over No. 16-ranked Pasadena City College.

The Owls improve to 2-1 on the year, while the Lancers drop to 1-3 overall.

As a team, Citrus shot an impressive 52.2 percent from the floor and outrebounded PCC 41-to-30.

Four Owls finished in double figures, led by Tyrel Creger's 17 points (6-for-14). Malik Khouzam followed with 15 points (6-for-12), while Brandon Suber (6-for-8) and JJ Mitchell (6-for-12) each chipped in 13 points. Rudy Suarez (2-for-3) and EJ Bryson (4-for-5) were right on the cusp of double digits with nine points apiece.

Mitchell led the Owls in rebounding with eight boards, while Grant Martin and Creger followed, each grabbing seven balls off the glass.

Citrus looks to carry momentum into next Tuesday when it hosts Orange Coast College at 1 p.m.
