Owls Dominate Perimeter Game

No. 19-ranked Citrus College was on fire from distance and grabbed a 90-63 victory over the College of the Canyons on the road Saturday afternoon.

The Owls improve to 18-6 overall and 9-1 in Western State Conference action with the sweep over the Cougars, who drop to 8-16 on the year, 1-9 in conference.

Citrus boasted a 48.4 shooting percentage, including a 41.9 clip from beyond the arc, while not allowing Canyons to hit a single three-point shot.

JJ Mitchell led the Owls with 25 points (8-for-16) and grabbed 14 rebounds for a double-double. Tyrel Creger followed with 24 points (7-for-14), knocking down 4-of-5 treys. Myles Blackman (5-for-7) and Malik Khouzam (4-for-7) each chipped in 11 points to round out the Owls in double figures.

Citrus returns home to host LA Valley on Wednesday for a 5 p.m. tipoff and is still on the hunt for the WSC title. The Owls sit tied with West LA on top of the conference leaderboard with four games left in the regular season.
