No. 15-ranked Citrus College took care of business at the charity stripe and held on for a 77-72 victory on the road at Glendale College Saturday afternoon.

The Owls improve to 20-6 overall and 11-1 in Western State Conference action, while the Vaqueros slip to 13-13 on the year, 6-6 in conference.

Brandon Suber (6-for-11) provided a big spark off the bench for the Owls, finishing with 21 points and six rebounds. JJ Mitchell followed with 15 points and seven boards, while Myles Blackman chipped in 11 points.

As a team, Citrus boasted a season-best 94.4 free throw percentage, hitting 17 of 18 free throws.

It came in handy down the stretch as the Vaqueros tried to foul to get the ball back, but every Owl hit their free throws to secure the 77-72 victory.

Citrus has just two games left in the regular season, heading to Antelope Valley College on Wednesday at 5 p.m., before hosting No. 9-ranked West LA College on Friday in what will likely be the battle for the conference championship.
