Owls Give up Trio of Goals in Conference Opening Loss

Woodland Hills, CA (Men's Soccer) -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team gave up a season high three goals in their Western State Conference opener on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls meanwhile got on the scoreboard just once as they fell by more than a goal for the first time this year, 3-1 at LA Mission.

The Eagles got on the Owls early with a goal three minutes into the contest. LA Mission extended their lead a little over 15 minutes later in the 19th minute. Citrus would respond finally in the 31st minute when sophomore Anier Valdez recorded his first goal of the season off an Omar Nunez assist. That's all they would get though as Mission scored again in the second half and ran away with the win.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 1-3-1 on the year and 0-1 in WSC play. The Owls will be back at home on Friday when they host Oxnard College. First touch is set for 2:00 PM.
