Glendora, CA (Men's Soccer) -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team gave up to very late goals on Friday afternoon when they hosted LA Mission College. For 88 minutes, the Owls were toe to toe with the second place team in the Western State Conference, but the final minute plus stoppage time were brutal in a 2-0 loss.

Citrus did their best to keep the Eagles off the board on Friday. Mission was the aggressor in the contest, taking eight shots to Citrus' two in the first 45 minutes. In the second half though, the Owls showed signs of life, outshooting Mission 8-6, but despite the offensive looks, Citrus framed just two on goal and didn't get one past the Eagle keeper.

Sophomore keeper William Beltran did his best to return the favor, and did so for almost the entire match, recording three saves in each of the first and second periods. Mission finally slipped one past him though in the 89th minute, and then did so again in stoppage time to secure the 2-0 victory.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 4-6-3 on the year and 3-4-2 in WSC play. Citrus will have their hands full again on Tuesday when they hit the road to take on the conference leader Oxnard College. The match is set for a 4:00 PM start.
