Oxnard, CA (Men's Soccer) -- For 89 of the 90 minutes of Tuesday afternoon's contest at Oxnard, the Citrus College Men's Soccer team was practically even with the #7 team in the State. Only a miscue midway through the first kept Citrus from a tie, in what ended up a 1-0 loss.

The Owls did their best to keep pace with the Western State Conference leader. Oxnard outshot Citrus on goal by a margin of 6-2, and had six corner kicks to Citrus' three. Despite that Citrus had their chances against the Condors.

Citrus' flub would come midway through the first half when a bobbled save led to the Oxnard goal in the 23rd minute. Other than the one miscue, sophomore keeper William Beltran was strong in goal for the Owls posting five saves, two in the first and three in the second.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 4-7-3 overall and 3-5-2 in conference play. The Owls will be on a bye this weekend, but resume conference contests next Tuesday at Moorpark College. First touch is set for 4:00 PM.
