Glendora, CA (Men's Soccer) -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team suffered their worst loss of the 2012 season on Friday when they played host to College of the Canyons. The Owls gave up a season high four goals and were shutout in a 4-0 loss.

The Cougars jumped on the Owls early scoring goals in the fifth and seventh minutes. Trailing 2-0, Citrus tried to turn up the heat outshooting Canyons 8-5 in the first 45 minutes alone. In addition, the Owls took six corners while Canyons didn't take a single one. All of that, and the Owls framed just one shot on goal in that first half.

In the second half it was more or less the same story. Citrus didn't outshoot Canyons, but did keep pace as the Cougars took six shots to Citrus' four. Still, the Owls couldn't get anything close to the goal, while the Cougars put three of their six on frame. Of those three, two slipped past Citrus' keeper, as they extended their lead to four scores.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 4-8-4 overall and 3-6-3 in conference play. The Owls will hit the road on Tuesday to take on Santa Barbara City College. The match is set for a 1:00 PM start time.
