Rancho Cucamonga, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer went toe to toe with their host Chaffey College on Friday afternoon, and nearly came home with a point against a top opponent. Alas, the Owls were sent home with another loss, this time 3-2.

The Owls struck first scoring in the 17th minute of the contest, when sophomore Silbestre Valencia took a pass from sophomore Justin Dryer and put it in the back of the net. Chaffey answered though six minutes later and then added another 12 minutes after that, to go up 2-1.

In the second half, Citrus quickly tied the match up when Valencia notched an assist on a goal by freshman Austin Amato right out of the gate in the second half. Chaffey took the lead back late though, and the Owls were forced to take their second straight loss.
With the loss, Citrus falls to 1-3 on the year. The Owls will be right back out on the pitch this coming Tuesday when they start Western State Conference play when they host LA Mission College. First touch is set for 4:00 PM.
