Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team started their 2013 Western State Conference slate on Tuesday afternoon, and it got off on the wrong foot. The Owls gave up three goals in the first half en route to a resounding 4-1 defeat at the hands of Los Angeles Mission College.

Mission wasted little time in getting on the board, scoring a goal less than seven minutes into the contest. The Eagles pounced again in the 20' minute, and then again ten minutes later to take a commanding 3-0 lead.

After Mission ran out to the 3-0 lead, Citrus settled in somewhat and got more aggressive on the offensive end of the ball. Still, the Owls weren't able to strike oil until the 78' when freshman Austin Amato scored on an unassisted strike to make it 3-1. Mission wouldn't be done though as the Eagle who scored their first goal, struck again just two minutes after Amato's score to put a book end on the match.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 1-4 on the year and 0-1 in WSC play. The Owls will keep searching for their first conference win and try to snap a three game losing skid when they travel to perennial conference power Oxnard College this Friday for a 4:00 PM meeting.
