Citrus College battled the heat and Chaffey College Friday morning but couldn't escape the Panthers in a 2-0 defeat.
The Owls slip to 0-1-1 on the year while the Panthers improve to 1-2-0 overall.
Both of Chaffey's goals came late in the game as the visitors capitalized in the 74th minute and just before time expired in the 90th minute.
David Orozco and Andrew Gariban each had chances for the Owls, but the Panther goalkeeper made two saves to keep Chaffey's shutout.
The Owls head to Southwestern College on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. kickoff.
