Whittier, CA (Men's Water Polo) -- The Citrus College Men's Water Polo team opened up their 2012 schedule on Saturday afternoon and did so against tough competition. In the opening game, Citrus took on the Sunbirds who are in their first season of competition at the NCAA DII level. The Owls played hard but were ultimately overpowered by the bigger school. Freshmen Greg Trimmer and Austin Sanchez both scored a pair of goals, while sophomore Ryan Batchelor handed out four assists.

Batchelor put the ball in the back of the net three times in the loss, while fellow sophomore Raul Castaneda ripped the cords twice.
