Citrus College competed at the Cerritos Mini over the weekend and dropped two tough battles, a loss 19-11 to Orange Coast College and a 19-17 heartbreaker to Chaffey College.
The Owls slip to 9-3 on the year with the defeats.
Breck Weiny led the Owls in the opener with four goals, while Matty Roebuck and Julian Nicholas each added a pair of goals. Peter Herrera and Abram Villegas also scored in the game.
In the nightcap, Roebuck had a big game with five goals and five assists. Weiny added four goals, followed by Nicholas' three goals. Drew Hernandez (two), Thomas Woolrich and Villegas also rattled in goals for the Owls.
Defensively, Jacob Perez made six saves in the cage, while Eric Ramirez had five.
Citrus looks to bounce back with a contest Wednesday afternoon at Ventura College.
