After a successful season, two Citrus College men's water polo players will continue their collegiate playing careers together. Ian Tauer and Matty Roebuck both head to Ottawa University in Arizona, which won the 2021 NAIA National Championship.

Tauer appeared in 25 games for the Owls, scoring 120 goals – ranking third in the CCCAA – and dishing out 48 assists. He finished the year with 65 steals (fifth in State) and 24 drawn exclusions and was named to the All-Western State Conference first team. Defensively, Tauer also had five blocks.

"I'm quite excited to know that I will be continuing my career," said Tauer. "It was not something I [originally] wanted to do but found more love for the game as the Citrus season progressed, so naturally I began to look for a way to continue playing. My time at Citrus has been incredible and one I won't forget. I first transferred here before covid began and was excited to play but covid put the season on hold. That year away made this season that much more enjoyable and one I will always cherish. The coaching staff, as well as the team, was one I will never forget."

Roebuck played in 27 games, scoring 72 goals and assisting 62 times, which ranked third in the CCCAA. He finished the year with 56 steals, 33 exclusions drawn and three blocked shots and also grabbed All-WSC first-team honors.

"I am very excited to keep playing water polo, I love the sport and I want to keep playing as long as I can," said Roebuck. "I loved my time at Citrus, the coaches and the whole athletics program treat their athletes great."
