Citrus Scores Big at North vs. South Tournament

Citrus College started the new season strong with a 2-2 showing at the Merced North vs. South Tournament over the weekend, including two lopsided wins.

The Owls opened with a 22-10 victory over Diablo Valley and capped the weekend with a 22-9 victory over host Merced. Over the four games, Citrus outscored its opponents 64-52. 

Riley Bagley led the Owls with 15 goals over the four games, adding four assists and grabbing a steal. Colton Vale followed with 12 goals and had two assists, while Killian Pressley scored nine goals and assisted eight times.

Logan Haberle found the back of the cage seven times, John Wilson scored six times, Devon Dow added five goals and Cristian Duran capitalized three times.

Milton Gutierrez, Adam Herald, and Aiden Herald each scored twice, while Gavin Tanner also scored over the weekend.

Brian de Lama finished with 34 saves on the weekend and picked up two wins in the cage for the Owls. Joshuah Alvarado added 10 saves.

Citrus continues on the road and heads to the Southwestern Labor Day Tournament next weekend, taking on the host Jaguars on Saturday at 10 a.m.
