Citrus College made a big splash in its home debut, dominating a 17-4 victory over El Camino College on Friday.

The Owls improve to 6-3 on the year, while the Warriors drop to 4-7 overall.

Brian de Lama had a huge game in the cage for Citrus, posting 11 saves in three quarters of action. Joshuah Alvarado added three saves in the final quarter to help secure the victory.

Riley Bagley and Colton Vale led the Owls with four goals each, while Killian Pressley added three goals and three assists and Devon Dow scored twice and dished out four assists. Citrus also saw goals from Aiden Herald, Logan Haberle, Thomas Gibson and Cristian Duran.

The Owls didn't waste any time after winning the opening sprint and got on the board in the first 15 seconds of the game as Gibson found Vale for the first goal. Less than 45 seconds later, Pressley powered past a defender and the Warrior goalie to make it 2-0.

El Camino cut the margin to one, 3-2, with just over three minutes left in the quarter, but Bagley rattled in a goal with one second left in the frame to keep the Owls in front.

It sparked a scoring spree for Citrus as the home team scored six consecutive goals in the second to boast a 10-2 lead at halftime and carried that momentum into the second half. The Owls added seven more unanswered goals to hold a commanding 17-2 lead before the Warriors could break through again, scoring two in the final three minutes to seal the 17-4 result.

Citrus looks to carry momentum into next week when it heads to the Cerritos Mini. The Owls take on the host Falcons first at 9 a.m. and close the day with a game against Fullerton at 2:15 p.m.
