Orange, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team was held to a season low two hits on Monday afternoon, and held in check in nearly all other aspects of a 9-1 loss to State #10 Santiago Canyon College. The Owls also struck out a season high five times, as they lost their fourth straight.

Santiago got the scoring going in the bottom of the second inning jumping out to a 3-0 lead. The Hawks then added another in the third as they staked themselves to an early 4-0 advantage. The Owls rallied in the top of the fourth with a sacrifice fly from sophomore Veronica Ramirez. That's all they would muster though as the Hawks went on to score three more in the fifth and two more in the sixth to end the game an inning early.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 9-7 on the year. The Owls will try and put the train back on the tracks tomorrow when they resume WSC Blue Division play against LA Mission College. First pitch is set for 2:30 PM.
