Torrance, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team won their sixth game in their last seven contests on Friday afternoon at El Camino College. Freshman Sara Moore was 4 for 4 with a pair of runs and 3 RBI's, helping guide the Owls to a decisive 11-1 win over the Warriors in five innings.

The Owls jumped all over El Camino from the get go. Moore led the game off with a triple to right-center field that scored a pair of runs. Sophomore Veronica Ramirez followed that up with a RBI single through the right side of the field, and sophomore Katie Cunningham drove in a run with an RBI groundout to make it 5-0 Citrus.

Sophomore Jessica Gonzalez hit a single to center in the top of the third that drove in a run and scored another when the El Camino center fielder misplayed it.

In the top of the fourth it was bombs away, as Moore smashed a solo home run, only to be immediately followed by another solo big fly, this one off the bat of freshman Kawehi Ephan. Freshman Andrea "Cookie" Perez didn't hit a home run in the inning, but she did drive in two runs with a single to right field. When it was all said and done, the Owls had scored 11 runs.

With the offense giving her plenty of breathing room, freshman Arianna Sanchez went to work in the circle. Sanchez scattered six hits and run over her five innings of work, striking out five and improving to 9-5 on the year.

With the win, Citrus improves to 16-10 overall. The Owls will be back at home come Tuesday when they host LA Valley College in the rubber match of their 2013 WSC Blue series. First pitch is set for 2:30 PM.
