Riverside, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team saw their five game winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon when they took on State #1 Riverside City College. The Owls were no hit for the first time all year, and committed three errors in a 15-0 five inning set back.
The Tigers proved why they're ranked so highly by pounding Citrus from the get go. Riverside scored three in the first, sixth in the second, four in the third, and their final two runs in the fourth. The Owls meanwhile were completely shut down at the plate, mustering just one walk and striking out five times.
With the loss, Citrus falls to 19-11 on the year. The Owls will try and regroup as they get another tough test on Tuesday afternoon. Citrus will take on State #15 and WSC Blue Division leader College of the Canyons in a single conference contests on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 2:30 PM.
