The Softball Blog: Stay Strong, Stay Focused, and Stay Positive
Throughout the 2013 CCCAA post-season, Citrus College sophomore Katherine Cunningham will be blogging for CitrusOwls.com. Today's installment is the fourth installment of the blog.
Wow, what an exciting game and what an incredible roller coaster ride. We came out strong in the early innings. We ran into challenges and suddenly we were behind going into the top of the 7th, but my girls never quit and we battled back. Jessica started it off with a bomb from and then we got a bases clearing double from Bre. I could not be more proud of my teammates today because of the way we ALL battled back after losing a big lead. Everyone chipped in, from the cheering to the play on the field. Everyone believed we could do it the whole entire time. Go Owls!
After such an emotional game, we have to remain focused on the task at hand. Obviously with the way they came back on us today, Cypress is a great team and they won't roll over tomorrow. They will come at us even harder than today. So we have to be ready; we will do this by taking each pitch, each swing, and each and every play one at a time and remain focused and committed to winning! We need to stay strong and positive, cheering each other on all game long. I believe the only thing we can improve on for tomorrow is getting our bunts down, but other than that we were incredibly solid all around. Obviously when we play that way we are unbeatable, just like we proved today.
We will give it our all tomorrow and leave it all on the field. If we play the way I know we can, we will come out on top. We just need to remember to stay strong, stay focused and stay positive.
