Throughout the 2013 CCCAA post-season, Citrus College sophomore Katherine Cunningham will be blogging for CitrusOwls.com. Today's installment is the fifth installment of the blog

This weekend was one we will never forget. These games are the kind of games that we will tell our children about. This weekend, we truly played softball the way it is meant to be played – with passion, heart, determination, and confidence. The games this weekend are the games that every athlete lives for; so exciting and so intense. Now to a lot people, our wins were surprising, but for us, we knew we had it in us. We have truly woken up and come together as a whole. As I said earlier in the blogs, the great thing about our team is that we do not have just one star on the team. Every game someone is always stepping up and coming up clutch; the best part is that, that "someone" is always a different person.  These wins are just the stepping stones for us.

Looking at next week - I think earlier in the week, the coaches will work us hard and the practices will be long and tough. Towards the end of the week, I think we will work on refining our skills. We will probably hit live because that has helped us a lot, as you can see from this past weekend. I believe practice will be similar to last week because we were productive and came out on top with our wins over Cypress. The saying, "if it is not broke don't fix it," applies to the coaches' philosophy. Not to mention, some of us are superstitious. I think we will go over some things that we did not necessarily execute throughout the games this weekend. One thing I know is that we will all be focused and fired up. We will be ready to give it to our next victims, whoever they may be.
