San Luis Obispo & Santa Maria, CA -- The Citrus College Softball team hit the road for a three game roadie up the Central Coast of California this past weekend. The Owls started the weekend off with a win in game one of their double-header against Cuesta College, but dropped the second game and then lost again on Saturday to Allan Hancock College to go 1-2.

In the opening game of the weekend, the Owls scored an 8-0 five inning win over the Cougars. Sophomore Sara Moore was 2 for 4 with a pair of RBI's and a run, while freshman Erinn Jaramillo was 1 for 2 with a pair of RBI's and a run of her own. Sophomore Arianna Sanchez was nails in the circle, improving to 5-0 on the year, allowing just two hits, two walks, and striking out a batter.

In the second game, the Owls didn't have things go as well in a 4-5 loss. Citrus committed four errors, including one in the bottom of the seventh that ultimately led the game winning walk-off double by the Cougars. Jaramillo kept the hot bat going, going 2 for 2 with a trio of RBI's.

On Saturday, the Owls headed a few miles South to lock horns with the Bulldogs. The Owls were blanked for the first time all season long, falling 6-0. Freshman Raven Preseau was 2 for 3 at the plate, accounting for half of Citrus' hits on the day, while Sanchez was tagged with her first loss of the year.

After the win and two losses, Citrus' record moves to 6-3 on the year. The Owls will be on the move again this week when they open things up on Tuesday with a trip to the defending State CCCAA Champs Palomar College for a 3:00 PM tussle.
