Whittier, CA -- The Citrus College Softball program hit the road for the first time this season on Tuesday afternoon. There were no need for worries for the Owls, he kept up their recent pace with an 11-5 win over their host, Rio Hondo College.

Citrus got things off to a good start by scoring four runs in the top of the first inning. Sophomore Bobbi Stalnaker drove in the game's first run when she drew a bases loaded walk, in the fifth at bat of the game. Two pitches later sophomore Megan Troutman roped a double that drove in the remaining base runners and the Owls had their 4-0 lead.

The Owls added another score in the top of the second thanks to an RBI double by freshman Jessica Brown and then three more in the top of the fourth after a run by Rio in the bottom of the third, to take a commanding 8-1 lead.

Citrus would tack on two more scores in the top of the sixth to go up 10-1, only to watch the Roadrunners try to make a game of it with four runs in the bottom of the sixth.
