Glendora, CA -- During its seven game winning streak, the Citrus College Softball program has often looked like an unstoppable force, being in the Top 5 in the State in team batting average and slugging, while also leading the entire CCCAA in runs per game headed into Saturday's contest. The Owls met an immovable object this afternoon when they went toe to toe with the State's #2 strikeout pitcher in the form of Allan Hancock's Katie Chenault. The result was a loss for the Owls, 5-1, and their lowest run output of the season.

Chenault would be given a lead before even stepping into the circle. The Bulldogs punched the Owls right away scoring a solo run in the top of the first. That was more or less all she would need. Citrus rapped out seven hits in the game and drew a pair of walks, but all but one of their 11 total base runners on the day would find pay dirt and that wouldn't happen till late.

Meanwhile Hancock slowly built up a lead scoring a single run in each of the first, second, third, fifth, and seventh innings. Citrus lone score would come in the bottom of the sixth when a Bulldog error allowed freshman Jessica Brown after her lead off double in that inning.

In the loss, sophomore Erinn Jaramillo was the lone Owls to reach base via a hit more than once. Jaramillo was 2 for 4 at the plate.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 7-3 on the season. The Owls will hit the road for a tough test at Cypress College this Tuesday. First pitch is set for 2:30 PM.
