Cypress, CA -- Two weeks after handing State #9 Cypress College their worst loss of the year, the Citrus College Softball team nearly had the Chargers on the ropes again. Instead, the Owls had to settle for their second straight loss as Cypress walk-offed the Owls on their home field 3-2.

Cypress got the scoring going with a run in the bottom of the second inning. Citrus meanwhile would be stifled until freshman Jessica Brown broke through with an RBI single in the top of the fourth, scoring sophomore Erinn Jaramillo and tying the game up at one run each.

The Chargers would scratch out another run in the bottom of the sixth, putting Citrus' backs against the wall, but the Owls rallied getting an RBI triple from sophomore Kiana "Kalei" Guillermo that scored freshman Kali Smith and sent the game to the bottom of the seventh.

In the bottom of the seventh, freshman Autumn Bartholomy, who pitched admirably the whole game for Citrus, got the first two outs, but gave up a single and a double to left field to end the game.

In the loss, Brown, Bartholomy, and Jaramillo all went 2 for 3 at the plate. With the loss, Citrus falls to 7-4 on the season. The Owls will be back home on Thursday when they host Santa Monica College in their WSC Blue Division opener. First pitch is set for 2:30 PM.
