Glendora, CA — Though they mustered just four total hits on the day, the Citrus College Softball team had it's chances on Saturday afternoon when they hosted Southwestern College. The Owls had bases loaded with less than two outs in three of their seven innings and had runners in scoring position in another, but the Owls missed their chances in a 3-1 loss to the Jaguars.

Southwestern drew first blood on the afternoon, scoring a single run in the top of the third. The Jaguars would add to their lead with two more in the top of the fourth, while the Citrus offense boasted those earlier referenced chances, but couldn't come through.

The Owls did finally put a run up on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fifth, when freshman Autumn Bartholomy lifted a sacrifice fly to center field that scored sophomore Erinn Jaramillo from third. That was all they could summon though as they lost for just the seventh time in their first 27 games.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 20-7 on the year. The Owls will be on the road next week for a slew of important conference match-ups. The first is a double-header at Santa Monica College starting at 1:00 PM on Tuesday.
