Glendora, CA - After the Citrus College Softball team put together three straight WSC Blue wins, their early season conference momentum was abruptly stopped by visiting Glendale College on Thursday. The Owls came up with just one hit, and committed three errors in a 4-1 loss to the Vaqueros.

Glendale would put the game's first run on the board in the top of the third via an RBI triple. The Owls quickly came back in the bottom half of the inning and got a solo home run from sophomore Kali Smith to tie the game up at 1-1.

That was more or less the rest of the offensive effort by the Owls on the day though as Citrus had two base runners over the final four innings. That would come in the bottom of the fourth, when Citrus tried to rally from another run by the Vaqueros in the top of the fourth to retie the game. Freshman Ashley "Nikki" Soto would get on via a Glendale error and then steal second. Freshman Jade Nua would draw a two-out walk to at bats later, but that's where the inning and more or less the game stalled out for Citrus.

Glendale would score twice more over the final three innings, picking up insurance scores in the top of the sixth and seventh innings. Nua and Smith were the only two Owls to pick up hits on the day, with Nua drawing Citrus' only walk. Despite their lack of base runners it wasn't due to fanning at the plate, as no Owl was struck out on the afternoon.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 7-14 overall and 4-3 in WSC Blue play. The Owls will head out on the road on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Monterery Park to take on East Los Angeles College at 12:00 PM.
