Monterrey Park, CA - The Citrus College Softball team went into the bottom of the fifth, looking to be standing on solid ground up 4-1. Things changed in a hurry though as the Owls six runs and the lead in a 7-4 loss to East Los Angeles College.

The Owls would open up Saturday's contest with a run in the top of the first, only to see the Huskies tie it back up in the bottom half of the inning. Citrus kept the pressure on though, scoring one in the third and two in the top of the fifth to go up 4-1. That's when the dreaded fifth came and bit the Owls in the backside, as Citrus went from being up three to down three in one half of an inning.

In the loss, freshman Celine Spathias went 2 for 4 with a pair of runs and a pair of RBIs. Freshman Alyssa Rodriguez was 2 for 3. With the loss, Citrus falls to 7-15 overall. The Owls will be on the road for a total of seven games this week, beginning on Tuesday with a double-header against Los Angeles Valley College. Game #1 is set for a 1:00 PM first pitch.
