Norwalk, CA - The Citrus College Softball team's fantastic 2017 campaign came to an end on Saturday afternoon. The Owls were mercied for the second straight day by #7 seed Cerritos College, 9-1 in six innings ending their post-season run in the regional round.

Citrus got exactly the start they wanted on the afternoon, keeping the Falcons off the scoreboard for the first two innings, and scoring the game's first run in the top of the second on an RBI groundout by sophomore Karissa Martinez that plated freshman Molly Montell. Unfortunately after that it was all downhill.

Cerritos would respond with four runs in the bottom of the third, and then added another in the bottom of the fifth to make it 5-1. The Owls would hit the ball hard all afternoon long, but credit the Cerritos coaching staff and the Falcon defense who were positioned and played Citrus perfectly all weekend long.

The Falcons would end the game early in the bottom of the sixth, hitting three home runs in four at bats to make it 9-1.

In the loss, Citrus was led by Montell who was 2-for-3. The Owls' season ends with a 24-16 mark.
