Citrus College kept its unblemished Western State Conference record intact Thursday with a 9-2 win at LA Valley.

The Owls improve to 9-17 overall and 3-0 in conference action. The Monarchs slip to 4-14, 0-2 on the year.

Citrus got things going with three runs in its first showing at the plate. With two runners on, Mia Godoy doubled to send both runners in before Isabella Ramirez traded places with her with an RBI double, 3-0.

The Monarchs cut the margin to just one run with scores in the second and fourth, but the Owls busted the game open in the sixth.

With one out and bases loaded, Layla Prieto drew a rogue pitch to the body to send one run in before a wild pitch tacked on another run. The Owls then walked in three more runs, with another coming on another hit-by-pitch to seal the 9-2 victory.

Jaidyn Harris picked up the win with five strikeouts.

The Owls return home to host Antelope Valley, also undefeated in conference, on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m.
