Citrus College took on another tough opponent but couldn't find its rhythm offensively, falling 8-0 in five innings to No. 17-ranked College of the Canyons.
The Owls slip to 17-16 on the year and 7-7 in Western State Conference action, while the Cougars improve to 19-9 overall and 10-3 in conference.
Canyons held Citrus to just two hits: one from Marissa Gallegos and one from Patty Rodriguez.
The Owls look to shake it off as they return home for a 2:30 p.m. contest against Glendale College on Thursday.
