Four Citrus College softball players earned All-Western State Conference honors following the conclusion of the season.

Samantha Meyndert earned first-team recognition, Leah Morales was named to the second team, and Marissa Gallegos and Alexis Cordero picked up honorable mention distinctions.

Meyndert was a dual threat for the Owls, at the plate and in the circle. As a pitcher, Meyndert made 29 appearances in the circle, finishing with 13 wins (third in conference) and 19 complete games. She pitched over 158 innings, throwing 52 strikeouts (fifth in conference) and boasting a 3.01 ERA (fifth in conference). Offensively, Meyndert led the Owls with a .425 batting average (which ranked second in the conference), hit a team-high 13 doubles, scored 22 runs, and batted in 17 RBIs.

Morales was second on the team with a .390 batting average with 57 hits – most of which came as perfectly laid bunts. She scored 35 runs, stole 16 bases, and batted in 10 RBIs.

Gallegos finished her freshman campaign with the third-best batting average on the team. Of her 42 hits (second on the team), 10 were doubles and two were home runs to give her a .536 slugging percentage. Gallegos scored 21 times and batted in 19 RBIs, while also making some appearances in the circle for the Owls with five wins on the year.

Cordero capped off a stellar Citrus career with a .369 batting average, posting 38 hits on the year – seven of which were doubles and four went the distance for home runs. She scored 21 runs and batted in 24 others, while drawing 13 walks on the year.
