Citrus College had to settle for a split Friday with Cuesta College after winning the first game 2-1 but dropping the nightcap 10-3 in eight innings.

The Owls sit at 5-2 on the year after the two games, while the Cougars move to 3-2 overall.

Leah Morales had a stellar day for Citrus, going 5-for-7 at the plate with two runs scored and six stolen bases over the two games. It puts her career tally to 24 and sets a new program record for most stolen bases in a career, which was previously held by Corinne Milligan's 21 career stolen bases (2006-07).

Desteny Garcia went 2-for-3 with two RBIs in the nightcap, while Rylee Praytor had a 2-for-4 showing at the plate in the second game.

Caitlin Kelley picked up her second win of the year after helping the Owls grab the 2-1 victory in the opener.

Citrus hits the road for its next five games, heading to Cypress College next week for a 2 p.m. contest on Thursday.
