Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Citrus College Women's Basketball program put together one of it's most complete games on Sunday afternoon in the Consolation Championship game of the 2015 Panther Pride Invitational hosted by Chaffey College. The Owls got it done on both ends of the floor, holding opposing Oxnard College to 27.3% shooting from the floor, while converting 46.7% of their shot attempts and scoring their second most points in this season in an 85-53 win over the Condors.

For the second straight game, the Owls led wire to wire. Sophomore Tiffany Villaruz scored the game's first four points, and the Owls opened the game on a 10-2 run. On the whole, Citrus held to Oxnard to just five points in the first quarter, while scoring 29 of their own. The Owls threw a knockout punch from the go, and the Condors never really recovered.

The closest Oxnard would get it would be 13, twice in the third quarter. The second time, was with Citrus up 53-40 and 2:48 to play in the third frame. That's when sophomore Janae Chamois took over, hitting two free-throws, nailing a triple from the right wing, and making the back end of a pair of free-throws, to put the game back out of reach where it would stay for the remainder of the contest.

In the win, Chamois led all scorers with 25 points, adding four assists and two steals as she was named to the All-Tournament team. Freshman Marisol Chavez-Delgado added 10 points and finished a board shy of a double-double. Sophomore Elsie Mejia had arguably her most complete game to date, coming off the bench and scoring nine points, while handing out a game high six assists. Sophomore Allison Zalin rounded out the superlatives with her first career double-double, scoring 14 points going 4 of 5 from the floor and 6 of 6 from the charity stripe, while also hauling in a game high 11 rebounds.

With the win, Citrus improves to 5-3 on the season. The Owls will be back in tournament action next weekend when they participate in the 2015 Buddy's All-Star Classic hosted by Los Angeles Valley College. Citrus gets a tough match-up in the opening round when they take on Ventura College (6-3) who were ranked #2 in the Southern California Pre-Season Coaches Poll. Tip-off is set for 3:00 PM this Friday.
