El Camino College avenged an earlier loss this season, handing Citrus College a 58-53 defeat Saturday afternoon.
The Owls drop to 7-3 on the year, while the Warriors improve to 3-5 on the year.
El Camino held the Owls to just a 23.7 field-goal percentage, only allowing Katherine Goostrey to score in double figures. Goostrey led all scorers with 29 points in the game and had five rebounds and five steals. Giselle Garcia-Nunez led the Owls with 13 boards.
The Warriors put the Owls in a 22-11 deficit after the first quarter and it proved too much for Citrus to overcome despite a late charge.
With just four seconds on the clock, Goostrey rattled in a three-pointer to put the Owls within one possession. Citrus fouled to try to get the ball back, but El Camino made its free throws to seal the 58-53 victory.
Citrus closes out the Lady Charger Classic on Sunday, taking on host Cypress College at 3:00 p.m.
