Citrus College posted its highest margin of victory since game-by-game results were kept beginning 2006 with a 90-27 win over LA Pierce Tuesday evening.
The Owls improve to 4-7 overall, while the Brahmas drop to 0-12.
Citrus dominated the glass, out-rebounding LA Pierce 78-to-30, led by Joceline Escamilla's career-high 17 boards. Giselle Garcia-Nunez added 15 rebounds and Reanne Reola grabbed nine missed shots off the backboard.
Five Owls finished the night in double figures, led by Garcia-Nunez with 24 points (12-for-20) off the bench. Felicity Mendoza posted 15 points after shooting 7-of-10 and Raeyanna Clophia followed with 14 points (7-for-11). Escamilla added 11 points for a double-double, while Cayla Williams rounded out the group with 10 points.
Reanne Reola dished out an impressive 10 assists, which is a career high for the sophomore and sits sixth all-time in the Citrus record book.
Defensively, the Owls held the Brahmas to just a 9.3 field goal percentage and 12.5-percentage from the perimeter, while offensively Citrus boasted a 43.6 field goal percentage.
The Owls head to the East LA Tournament after the holidays, taking on Moorpark College first on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 12 p.m.
