Citrus Grabs Big Win at RCC Tournament

Citrus College opened the new season at the Riverside City College Title IX Crossover Tournament. The Owls dropped an 86-58 loss to No. 21-ranked East Los Angeles College on Friday but bounced back with a big 80-59 victory over No. 20-ranked RCC.
The Owls begin the year with a 1-1 mark.
Kristin Morella led Citrus with 18 points the first night, while Jolleen Olia posted 14 points and Liz Camargo added 10 points.
Against the Tigers, Olia finished with 27 points (10-for-23) to lead the Owls to their first win of the year. Morella added 13 points (5-for-10) and Carmago chipped in 12 points (3-for-14). Deija Mitchell, Sammy Martinez and Olia led the Owls' effort off the glass, each finishing with five rebounds.
The Owls head to San Diego City College on Thursday for a 5 p.m. tip off.
