San Bernardino, CA (Women's Soccer) -- Three games into the 2012 season, the Citrus College Women's Soccer team had to settle for their second tie of the year. The Owls took on a perennial tough San Bernardino Valley squad in San Bernardino and came away with a 1-1 final.

The two teams traded shots back and forth in the first half, but it was the Wolverines who struck first. San Bernardino got on the board late in the first period when they snuck a ball past sophomore Alyssa Lozano in the 44th minute. The Owls would try to answer back quickly and even scored in extra time, but the goal was waved off when they were called for offsides.

Though they weren't able to match San Bernardino Valley in the first half, they quickly took care of business in the second. Sophomore Jasmine Williams notched her third goal of the season in the 47th minute with a goal off a Valeria Flores assist that made it 1-1.

That's where the score would stay until the final whistle sounded. Both teams had opportunities, but neither team was able to cash them in. With the tie, Citrus' record moves to 1-0-2 on the year. The Owls will be off until next week when they play their home opener against Moorpark College on Tuesday September 11th. Kick-off is set for 6:00 PM.
